Buy Efudix without prescription . The preparation is a topical (locally applied) cytostatic agent.
- The active ingredient of the preparation, fluorouracil, inhibits cell growth and is used exclusively for the local treatment of certain skin changes.
- A cytostatic agent is a chemical substance that inhibits or delays the cell cycle. Since tumor cells divide faster than healthy cells, a cytostatic agent has a particular effect on tumor cells.
- The medicine is used for:
- Premalignant skin changes such as actinic keratoses or Bowen’s disease.
- As a treatment trial, the preparation can also be used to treat superficial basal cell carcinomas instead of the preferred surgical therapy when surgical or radiological measures have been unsuccessful or are not applicable, e.g. in the case of multiple (numerous) lesions or in areas that are difficult to treat. The diagnosis should be confirmed histologically before treatment, as the drug has not proven sufficiently effective in other types of basal cell carcinoma. It should also be noted that the tumor may persist (continue to exist) under the superficially healed skin area.
Dosage:
- Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
- Apply the cream twice a day in sufficient quantity to cover the affected lesions. Treatment should be continued until the inflammatory reaction has reached the erosion stage (superficial tissue damage that heals without scarring). Then use of the product should be discontinued. Treatment for actinic keratoses usually lasts 2 to 4 weeks. Complete healing of the lesions may not be visible until 1 to 2 months later.
- Inoperable or non-irradiable superficial basal cell carcinomas should be treated for at least 3 to 6 weeks until ulceration occurs. Treatment may be required for 10 to 12 weeks until the lesions are completely resolved. As with all neoplastic diseases, the patient should be followed up for a sufficient period of time to ensure that healing has been achieved.
- Your doctor will need to assess when you can stop using the medicine based on the response to treatment and will instruct you accordingly.
- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak.
- If you have used more than you should
- When applied to large areas (skin areas over 500 cm 2 , approx. 23 x 23 cm), there is a possibility of a systemic toxic effect and thus an increased occurrence of undesirable reactions.
- If you forget to use it or if you stop treatment:
- Failure to use , interruption or premature termination of treatment can lead to a deterioration in the drug’s effect and jeopardise the success of the therapy. Therefore, use the medicine as prescribed by your doctor. If you are in any doubt, inform your doctor or pharmacist.
